The Good Wife's Alan Cumming: "Eli Is Setting Himself Up For a Fall"
Parker Posey, Alan Cumming The Good Wife viewers are about to see a part of Eli that some probably never even knew he had - a soft side. "In this episode, we find out that there is something very shocking that happened when Eli was married," Alan Cumming tells TVGuide.com. "So you see Eli very, very vulnerable for the first time ever." Why? The arrival of Eli's ex-wife, Vanessa, played by Parker Posey, has a lot to do with it. It's no coincidence that the two actors have shared the screen several times before (most memorably in The Anniversary Party and Josie and the Pussycats) and Cumming immediately suggested Posey for the part. "I think Parker is the funniest person ever. I could just watch her walking on the street and think its fascinating. Everything she does, she brings such an idiosyncratic energy to It," he says. "She's hilarious in this. And there are also some really touching scenes in there." Watch full episodes of The Good Wife Cumming says he is more than ready to explore and embrace a softer Eli, the colorful campaign manager-turned-crisis management expert who chewed out a colleague, did a victory dance in the copy room or (jokingly) dropped trou. "It's about time that emotion came out," he says. "We just shot one scene this week where you see Eli like you've never seen him before. He's not winning all the time and he's a bit battered, so I'm really intrigued by where that will go." Cumming is enjoying Eli's new stability (minus the recent theft of Eli's favorite jellyfish paperweight by someone who Cumming suspects to be "dark forces"). Following Peter's re-election, Eli set up shop within Lockhart Gardner working on crisis management cases in between political campaigns. "Last season, I was mostly on location and I had never done a scene with Archie [Panjabi], I had just passed Josh [Charles] in the corridor. So it's been really fun to increase my acting partners," he says. "Also, it's nice to have a base and to know that when I do scenes in my office, that's my office. I had, like, five different offices in different locations last year so I feel much more focused." The Good Wife casts Amy Sedaris to go up against Eli Gold However, Cumming probably shouldn't get too comfortable in his new digs. As evidenced by his recent push to snag Peter (Chris Noth) the keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention, Eli is determined to put Peter in the governor's mansion. "Next summer is when that keynote speech is going to take place, so I imagine the beginning of next year will see Eli back on the political path with Peter," he says. The only thing standing in the way of that path is Alicia (Julianna Margulies). Eli promised a prominent politician that the Florricks would be together come convention time, so the question is what measures he will go to in order to bring the fragmented family back together. And will the man so used to winning big even be successful? "I have no doubt that Eli is setting himself up for a fall because he's so determined to make Peter into this great political phenomenon, and he needs Alicia to help him do that. He's kind of in denial about that fact," Cumming says. "I think that he's staked so much of his own reputation on that so I think he'll go as far as he can. That might mean manipulating Alicia to get what he wants. You never know, maybe Alicia and Peter will get back together." "There's definitely a course to make that happen by whatever means." The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.

Carrie Ann Inaba: I Met My Fiance Online!
First Published: October 26, 2011 2:43 PM EDT Credit: Access Hollywood Caption Carrie Ann Inaba stops by Access Hollywood Live on October 25, 2011LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- After many attempts to find love the traditional way, Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba went online to meet the right guy and it worked! I met him on eHarmony! Carrie Ann told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesdays Access Hollywood Live when asked about fiance Jesse Sloan. I was dating all these younger guys. I was like, Maybe I need to change it up a little, the 43-year-old star said. While creating her online profile, the DWTS judge who got engaged in March initially kept her identity secret. I didnt put up a picture, I didnt put anything about who I was, she explained, adding that she was very forthright about what she wanted from a suitor. I was like, You need to be sexy. I need to be attracted to you. I really put exactly what I wanted. I love cats! After laying eyes on Jesses profile, Carrie Ann said felt something special. He was the one they sent me. It just felt familiar, she told Billy and Kit. In his picture, I felt like I already knew him. He took a risk because he didnt know what I looked like or anything. After months of exchanging e-mails and still not showing Jesse what she looked like or revealing who she was Carrie Ann took the plunge. A few months later, I finally sent a picture. [It was] me in Hawaii with no makeup, she continued. We finally went out [on] a supervised date. We went over to my friends house. It was awesome! I cant believe I just shared that with you! [Its] because you guys have those warm eyes, she told Billy and Kit. Though theyve been engaged for months, the DWTS judge who appears on the November cover of Natural Health magazine said an actual wedding ceremony is a bit in limbo. I dont know, Im not a good wedding planner, I suck I dont want to plan, she said. Im doing private I wanna do backyard and I wanna do beach. A walk down the aisle might be on the backburner, but expanding her family is not. Trying for a baby, absolutely, she said with a smile. Whichever comes first is fine. We dont have to be married to have the baby. My age at 43, I have to get moving on the baby. The wedding can come later. Also on Tuesdays show, Carrie Ann weighed in on Chaz Bonos elimination and his claim that he was unfairly judged at times during the competition. I commended Chaz on what he was doing, because what he was doing was very important in the larger scope of life, but the scoring has to do with what theyre doing dance-wise. We are able to separate the two, we can do that, she said. Were able to look at the dance and just judge the dance, and not what theyre going through personally I actually thought we were pretty kind in general this year. Adding, Sometimes people get offended by what we say, it happens. We have to judge, our job is to judge. Copyright 2011 by NBC Universal, Inc. All rights reserved. Exclusive Clip From Anonymous
Hamlet, via Roland EmmerichHe's destroyed the world and most of its populace several times over, and now Roland Emmerich has turned his laser-targetting system on William Shakespeare, contending in Anonymous that the Bard is not, in point of fact, the author of the plays of William Shakespeare. Wherever you stand on the theory*, you'll still admire the sumptuous costumes, quality cast and rather gorgeous production of this exclusive clip from the film. This segment intercuts between two very different productions of Hamlet, one at the public theatre of the Rose and one in the royal court of Elizabeth I(Vanessa Redgrave here, although JoelyRichardson plays her younger self). The film's candidate for the true author of the plays, the Earl of Oxford (Rhys Ifans) watches closely to see if the mob gets the political allusions he's added to the play, attacking the Queen's advisor, Cecil (David Thewlis). Anonymous is out on October 28 and is at the BFILondon Film Festival this week.*OMGit's nonsensical; of COURSE Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare.

Exclusive: Debbi Morgan Finally Discusses Her Hush-Hush Role around the Youthful and also the Restless
Debbi Morgan There'll soon be lots of Harmony in Genoa City... plus some folks will not enjoy it one bit. Emmy-winning phenom Debbi Morgan - formerly Dr. Angie Hubbard on My Children - will join The Youthful and also the Restless on Friday, October 7 because the ne'er-do-well, drug-addict mother of Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Fans happen to be acquainted with Morgan's character, who had been formerly referred to as Yolanda once the role was performed by Chene Lawson (2005-06). Nowadays, Yolanda has become from the crack, named herself Harmony and it has began a brand new existence like a waitress inside a Milwaukee diner. TV Guide Magazine went lower towards the Y&R set to talk with Morgan about her hot new gig and, obviously, to fireplace from the million-dollar question: Will she and Peter Bergman (Jack) finally circumvent to that particular interracial romance they were not permitted to possess 22 years back on AMC?TV Guide Magazine: You've been a large Y&R nut, right?Morgan: I've always loved Y&R! [Laughs] I usually use to express to Victoria Rowell, "I personally don't like you, Vicky! If only they'd eliminate you and so i could seriously that demonstrate since you know they'd not have two black divas on simultaneously! Or you is going do Angie and I'll do Drucilla!" We accustomed to laugh about this constantly. Who'd have ever thunk?TV Guide Magazine: Inform us about Harmony.Morgan: It is so nice to take on a brand new set of footwear. As soon as the thing is Harmony she's 180 levels from Angie. Angie was our planet mother. Harmony includes a real edge to her and, unlike Angie, she's no educated lady. She'd no relationship with Devon from the moment he was created. She was a drug addict who gave her child towards the grandmother to consider proper care of, so when the grandmother died, the boy fell in to the promote care system. Now she gets her act together, or at best she's trying.TV Guide Magazine: What brings her to Genoa City? Morgan: She's no clue what's been happening with Devon - that his father, Tucker [Stephen Nichols], may be the boy of Katherine Chancellor [Jeanne Cooper]. Actually, that's still a large secret in Genoa City until Phyllis [Michelle Stafford] puts the storyline on the web. Harmony sees this news on the customer's laptop while working in the diner and constitutes a beeline to Genoa City to reunite with Devon. Obviously, she does not obtain a warm reception. Devon's furious that they abandoned him and does not want anything related to her.TV Guide Magazine: What's Tucker's reaction?Morgan: It's says Devon was the effect of a one-evening stand between Harmony and Tucker. That evening meant the planet to her - Tucker was the passion for her existence - however it meant so very little to him he does not even recognize Harmony once they meet again. Not really a clue! It's just like a dagger through her heart.TV Guide Magazine: And Mrs. Chancellor?Morgan: [Laughs] Oh, she would like Harmony to remain in Genoa City on her own selfish reasons. She and Tucker are in odds and she or he really wants to place it to him! Ulterior motives, baby! And Harmony knows it. She's not too stupid! I simply love that Jeanne Cooper. Such a hoot.TV Guide Magazine: How lengthy has Harmony been sober? Does her druggie past remain a large problem here? Morgan: I'd say she has been clean for that this past year approximately and also you see her on the telephone, checking along with her sponsor. You will find always individuals emotional triggers which are some risk when you are a drug addict and also the rejection from Devon is really a large one. But she's waiting on hold and keeping strong. Whenever you feel you are alone and also have no love inside your existence you are able to so easily relapse, making this harder than she could ever imagine. But she's going to stay and fighting hoping her boy will at some point accept her.TV Guide Magazine: What's together with your character's title change?Morgan: [Executive producer-mind author] Maria Bell explained she just hated the title Yolanda! And thus, because Yolanda and Tucker both was previously within the music business, Maria emerged using the title Harmony. The rear story is the fact that Tucker handled a rock-band within the 1980s and Yolanda would be a groupie who adopted this guitar rock band around from city to city. She became pregnant by him and was afraid to inform him, so she went rather towards the road manager who ended up offering her money to obtain an abortion. She only agreed to be livid! When she meets track of Tucker in Genoa City, he claims he'd no clue the manager did that. She's unsure whether or not to believe him or otherwise. She would like to think she's not only a bit of something at the base of Tucker's shoe, however he really goes after her, declaring that she's a no-good mother.TV Guide Magazine: And So I guess we will not see Harmony and Tucker returning to any type of romance... or can we?Morgan: Well, through all his anger she does look for a moment of hope here or there, hope that maybe she did mean something to him. She thinks he protests an excessive amount of! So I am wishing we obtain to experience with this a bit more.Television Guide Magazine: How about Harmony and Jack Abbott? Whenever you and Peter Bergman attempted a romance back on AMC there have been a lot of complaints in the audience that Bergman ended up getting fired.Morgan: You never know? [Laughs] Maybe Harmony will turn to function as the black Erica Kane! People happen to be hooking up the dots and therefore are presuming that Harmony will find yourself with Neil [Kristoff St. John]. It would be excellent as we went somewhere unpredicted. Which was this type of factor with Peter in older days! AMC was getting everything hate mail and that we understood they'd need to split up High cliff and Angie which among us could be from employment. I simply assumed it might be me, however it was Peter! He'd just bought a condo in NY. His wife was pregnant. I had been so shocked they did that to him. However eventually Peter calls me from La and states he will an audition to become Terry Lester's alternative on Y&R and that i stated, "Peter, don't walk to that particular audition. F--king run! It will likely be the role a person can have!Inch [Laughs] He informs that story even today!Television Guide Magazine: Why have you jump to a different cleaning soap so rapidly? You are among the rare couple of in daytime that has also juggled major films and primetime, too. Why don't you see what else is available?Morgan: As being a lady within this business, being of the certain age bracket, becoming an Black, the jobs just aren't there for me personally in large amounts. Although immediately after I signed a 2-year cope with Y&R, my manager got a phone call that there is interest to possess me play opposite Denzel Washington within the movie Flight, that is shooting from October to December. [Laughs] The timing couldn't happen to be worse! But guess what happens? I am Comfortable with it, because I wasn't likely to turn lower a component such as this around the No. 1 cleaning soap! Maybe basically is at my twenties or my thirties I would have held out. Although not now. I required this task prior to being introduced that AMC would the web and today people request me basically regret not remaining there. Definitely not! This really is business.TV Guide Magazine: And, you may already know, these shows would drop you want a hot potato whether it suited them!Morgan: [Laughs] Ain't the truth! On my small first trip to Y&R, I went into Jacob Youthful within the hallway at CBS. We'd done AMC together and that he just visited The Bold and also the Beautiful. I leaped up into his arms and that we just howled and howled with laughter in the craziness from it all!Sign up for TV Guide Magazine now!
